Week 8: Community

I am part of a class that does community service and activities that I can do with my class. I like to be part of a community because you can get everyone’s opinion, but, sometimes it is hard to work in a group because everyone wants to do something.

It is nice to be part of a community because you get to spend time with the people you live by or do something with.  You could make life-long friends in your community, and you could help each other with community service.

In a community, you have responsibilities to do.  It could range from planning a party or picking up trash on the beach. You have to be able to take care of work/school and more community service projects. My mom always told me if I didn’t take care of my school work, I couldn’t do anything fun on the weekends. I like  to do community service!

Week 7: My School

I go to Hongwanji Mission School or HMS! This school goes from preschool to eighth grade. There are 4 core classes.

• Language Arts
• Math
• Science
• Social Studies

We have resource classes too! They are very fun to go too. We do fun activities and always have fun in class! We have three classes every day! I love resource classes and I hope we could have more every day!

We are a Buddhist school and we go to temple services for holidays and Buddhist holidays. The whole school comes and we all sing together. It is nice to here all of the preschoolers’ sing.  Even though it is a little boring, I like to sing together as a school.

What Do You Do in Your Free Time?

In my free time, watch T.V on my iPad. I like to watch “Liv and Maddie” on Netflix. I also watch Cupcake and Cake wars! I like to relax and watch T.V. because it makes me calm. It is fun to watch with my family because they always laugh a lot. I love to watch T.V.!!

I also like to cook! I made a lot of things. My family always love them! My favorite recipe I made was red velvet cupcakes with a strawberry filling. I made that for my grandma’s birthday! I love to cook for my family and friends?

In the free time I have, I like to do arts and crafts. I make very cute things and my mom loves them! My favorite thing to make things with is pom poms. They are like balls of fluff! I like to make snowmen with them. I love to make arts and crafts because making things that make people happy is my goal!

My Favorite Places in the U.S.A

My favorite place in the U.S.A is California because it has Disneyland and it has a lot, kid-friendly places to go. For example, I went to Lego Land, Disney Land, Pier 39, The GoldenGate Bridge and Flagship Macy’s
